LOIRE, SOLOGNE, CENTRE : FRANCE, EUROPE
The Sologne is a French region of the Centre Val de Loire, natural and forest, which is divided between the great Sologne ( including the « Sologne des Etangs » ), the wine-growing Sologne and the dry Sologne essentially.
The area of ponds in Sologne reaches almost twelve thousand hectares ( equivalent to 2% of its territory, about 420,000 hectares ) which covers a very strong tradition of fishing and hunting ( sometimes private ).
Different spaces coexist in Sologne :
.1. The great Sologne ( including the « Sologne des étangs » ) located in the north and in the centre of the Sologne. The Chambord park is located between this part of the Sologne and the « Blésois » ( city of Blois ) characterized by large forest areas.
.2. The Sologne viticulture ( and market gardening ) located in the south west of the Sologne.
.3. The dry Sologne located in the south east of the Sologne.
